On 2014-05-17 we received an automated email from our elasticsearch provider found.no who informed us that our elasticsearch instance ran out of memory and was restarted. Unfortunately this email did not directly rang the alarm sirens on our end as we had this a couple of times before without causing any inconvenience. We noticed the service was unavailable soon. We were able to quickly narrow it down to our elasticsearch index being corrupted.
We’ve been hard at work here to get a new exciting feature done. ninya.io is all about making interesting people in tech more discoverable. ninya.io let’s you search for skilled tech people based on locations and skills. So far, the only data source we hooked up to was StackOverflow. We are pleased to announce that from now on you’ll start seeing mixed result sets with users from ServerFault also being considered for your search requests.
